Gate solitaire rules

Objective

Play all cards into the foundation piles.

Foundation Piles

The 4 foundation piles are built upward in suit from Aces to Kings.

Tableau Columns

• The 8 tableau columns are built downward in alternating color.
• Only column end cards or entire columns are available for play. Partial columns are not movable.
• Only column end cards may be built onto foundation piles.
• Empty tableau spaces may be filled from the reserves, or from the waste pile if the reserves are empty.

Reserve Piles

2 reserve piles of 5 cards each are dealt at the start of the game. Uncovered end cards are available for play.

Stock Pile

Cards are dealt 1 at a time from the stock pile to the waste pile.

Waste Pile

The top card of the waste pile is available for play.

Scoring

Every card played into the foundations will score.
